New practice manager

Grimsby’s leading accountancy firm Forrester Boyd has appointed Simon Beckett as practice manager at the firm.

He takes over this role from Tony Cook, who has held the position since 1998 at the South St Mary’s Gate office.

Mr Beckett left university in 1986 after gaining a BSc honours degree in chemical engineering.

He began his accounting career with Forrester Boyd, qualifying as a certified accountant in 1993, before moving to a position with ColepCCL UK Limited where he reached the potion of finance manager.

It comes as locally recruited trio Jenny Costigan, Clare Bateman and Carol Scaife passed the final examinations of the Institute of Chartered Accountants to become fully qualified chartered accountants.

All three joined Forrester Boyd as trainee accountants from university.

Carl attended Waltham Tollbar School and then the University of Leeds, where he read business economics.He has represented Grimsby and District at football and is treasurer and committee member of Grimsby Rugby Club.

He will now be a member of Louth office marketing committee and entertainments committee.

Newly-wed Claire also went to Tollbar, followed by University of Durham, where she read economics.

And Jenny went to Lindsey School. Cleethorpes followed by the University of York where she gained a MSc in English Literature.
