ABRSM Examinations

November 10th, 2006

If you play an instrument or sing and would like to develop your skills further, we have a team of highly qualified, professional musicians based at Tollbar ready to help you. We will endeavour to arrange the lessons, to fit into your timetable.

We also provide theory tuition, especially for those students that are wanting to progress beyond grade 5.

You do not have to be studying A level Music to take advantage of this opportunity.

We have a choral group for older students and for instrumentalists we have a string ensemble and the Tollbar Band. Students wishing to participate in any of these groups will be made very welcome.

We also have a set of Steel Pans and African Drums, so if you do not read music but have a good sense of rhythm or a good memory for holding a tune, then you might like to have some fun producing world music.

Throughout the academic year, there are several opportunities for you to perform as a soloist or as a member of an ensemble. In the Autumn term we produce music for the Presentation Evening at the Town Hall, a Christmas concert in college and a Carol Service at All Saints Church in Waltham.

In the spring term we have a Jazz Evening in college and in the summer term we hold a concert in St Augustine’s Church, Grimsby.
