Tollbar take over Grimsby and District Netball

Grimsby and District Under 16 Netball tournament

Tollbar entered two teams into this event a Year 10 and year 11 team. The teams were drawn in different groups and both teams. After four very good games with gutsy performances from all players, each team managed to top their leagues.

The Year 11 team won all of their games and played extremely well as a unit. Top performances from all of the girls saw them go into the semi final against Humberston with confidence. They took every scoring opportunity and defended strongly to gain a place in the final against their understudies, the Year 10 team.

The Year 10 team had a tough run into the semi final and with 3 teams tying on points, it went down to goals, and this placed Tollbar in first position. In the semi final they played Healing School and with sheer grit and determination they squeezed their way into the final.

The final was always going to be tough , as the two teams play against each other every week in training. After the game which the Year 11 team won to become the 2007 Under 16 Grimsby and District Netball title winners, several on lookers commented upon the outstanding quality of the netball from both teams.
