Celebrations All Round As Excellent Results Roll In

Elsewhere, celebrations were also in full swing.

At Tollbar Business and Enterprise College, all 63 A-level students passed in the A to E range, and 70 per cent achieved the top A to C grades. Delighted principal David Hampson said: "The results are fantastic and evidence of the commitment of students and teachers at Tollbar BEC.

"We expected to do well but some of the students have out-performed our predictions for them."

And at the Grimsby Institute of Further and Higher Education, 17 out of 23 subjects saw 100 per cent pass rates.

Many subjects recorded excellent results, including mathematics, law, English literature, film studies, French, photography and biology.

The overall results were up on the previous year, with more students achieving A to C grades.

Institute principal Prof Daniel Khan said: "I'm delighted yet again that more of our students are getting higher grades."
