U16 Girls are County Champions

Tollbar Under 16 girls football team claimed the Humberside County when they beat Hull’s Wolfreton School 3-0 with goals coming from Gemma Charlton, Lisa Cromey and Holly Cornford.
The team, which is made up of Year 10 and 11 students, trained hard under the watchful eye of Miss Hayday and went on to represent Humberside in the National RAF Under 16 Cup.
They also played Bourne Grammar School in a match to reach the last 16 in the country and only lost on sudden death penalties, having drawn the game 4-4 and also drawn the first set of penalties 4-4.
With more than 6000 schools eligible to take part in this competition, it is an outstanding achievement to reach the last 32 in the country and one in which the girls can take great pride.
