Executive Summary
This N That are currently celebrating the success of our most recent project; the concert, ‘Before They Were Famous’, was held on 29th April to promote Tollbar BEC’s ‘Up The Tempo’ CD jam-packed with the talented students that the college has.
The ‘Before They Were Famous’ marketing campaign was a true success and over 400 students attended the lunchtime session. We generated £ revenue from the event,10% of which we shall give to the ‘DEBRA’ charity; meeting our main objective of helping the community.
This builds on our earlier success in the field of event management. In November, we organised a fund-raising concert for ‘Children in Need’ at which a number of male PE teachers dressed up as female singers. We raised an amazing £662.18 which will be donated to ‘Children in Need’.
After the first concert, we underwent a number of changes in personnel. Some members left the business while others joined as we restructured the organisation. This enabled us to build a cohesive board that was able to fulfil the challenging roles assigned to them. The eight members have evolved into a highly effective and mutually supportive team.
Following on from our first project, we found another gap in the market and have successfully sold a number of revision guides to the parents and students of Tollbar BEC.
This builds on our three core strengths; excellent organisational skills, inspirational marketing and a shared commitment to help the community.
On completion of our trading year, we expect to announce a healthy profit for our shareholders in addition to charitable donations in excess of £680.
However, our greatest assets have been intangible. Each of us have learned and developed enormously through the experience of building our own business and intend to share these experiences as advisors within Tollbar BEC next year.
