Modern Languages


French is taught to all pupils in Key Stage 3, and Spanish is taught as a second language to the top sets in Years 7 and 8. We have several classes at Key Stage 4, following the AQA full course. At AS/A level we have groups in both Year 12 and 13.

2007 Exam Results

Key Stage 4 (GCSE)

  • GCSE French A*-C pass rate was 73%
  • GCSE German A*-C pass rate was 96%


Key Stage 5 (A Level)

  • As in previous years, 100% pass rate in AS/ A2 French and AS/ A2 German
  • 50% of AS French candidates achieved grades A - C
  • 75% of A2 French candidates achieved grades A - C
  • 100% of A2 German candidates achieved grades A - C
