What is the course about?

Physical and Human Geography

What will I learn?

THE PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT

· Ecosystems: the interaction of plants and animals with their physical environment

· Atmosphere: understanding weather at local, regional and global scales

· Lithosphere: earth structure and landforms

THE HUMAN ENVIRONMENT

· Population patterns and change at the local and national scale

· Rural and urban settlements in More and in Less Developed Countries

GEOGRAPHICAL INVESTIGATION

· You will produce a short project after a field trip to York. This will be used to help you understand the Geographical Skills needed form fieldwork investigation

When does the course start?

The course starts in September of each year.

Normal daytime attendance.

OCR

How long does the course last?

The course is taught as a one year programme.

What can i do next?

You may progress to A2 level.

AS and A2 levels are recognised qualifications for a wide range of courses in Higher Education.

Are there any entry requirments?

GCSE Geography at Grade B.

Are there any other requirements?

Students will be required to carry out fieldwork. This will involve trips with financial implications
