Where Does this Take Me in the Future?

  • The study of PSHE and Citizenship provides students with the knowledge, ability and confidence to leave the establishment as rounded young citizens of the local and wider community.

  • The three Wider Key Skills are employer recognised as adult qualifications and can assist pupils in the world of work. They provide students with a package of basic skills that will allow greater access to job opportunities and further progression into college studies including apprenticeships.

  • GCSE Leisure and Tourism provides opportunities for students who may wish to pursue a career within the tertiary employment sector such as catering and hospitality, sports and recreation and visitor attractions industries. The GCSE course allows students to progress academically by leading onto the various further education coursers available.

  • Level 1/2 Enterprise and Employability provides technical and employability skills and knowledge and understanding which are transferable and will enable individuals to meet changing circumstances, whether these arise from a shift in their own status or in employment.

  • Level 1/2 Preparation for Working Life is employer recognised as an adult qualification and can assist pupils in the world of work. The course covers CV, application letters and interview techniques preparing students for progression on to further education or work.

  • IB Social and Cultural Anthropology and Physiology allow various routes into further study in higher education around the world in subjects such criminal physiology, sociology, politics and human behavioural sciences.

  • All topics covered within Citizenship provide a good progression route to more advanced qualifications. e.g. The IB offered at Tollbar, courses at FE colleges and higher education courses.
