The "Business and Enterprise culture and ethic" is not seen merely as an 'additional extra' to the already crowded science curriculum, rather as an integral part of the curriculum at all key stages. The schemes of work have been updated to reflect this and new innovations in teaching and learning are discussed through regular meetings of the Curriculum Area Management Team and teaching staff to further these novel approaches.
BTEC in particular provides opportunities for students who may wish to be employed in the applied science industry or organisations that use science. It provides technical and employability skills, knowledge and understanding which are transferable and will enable individuals to meet changing circumstances, whether these arise from a shift in their own status or in employment.
