Exam Results

Tollbar is particularly proud of its GCSE and IB 6th Form results. In summer 2011, GCSE students at Tollbar achieved outstanding success with more than 80% gaining five plus A*-C grades, including English and Maths, for the fourth year in a row.

391 students took their GCSEs at Tollbar, the largest ever cohort. A total of 82.6% achieved five or more A*-C grades including English and Maths. 99.7%, or 390 students, passed five GCSEs with A*-C grades.

In English, 88.2% (or 345) students) achieved a GCSE at A*- C, with 87.7% (343 students) achieving A*-C in Maths, and 92% gaining A*-C in English Literature. 100% (or 391 students) passed two science subjects at A*-C.

Almost 92% of IB students at Tollbar who received their results in June 2011, have gained places at a wide range of universities including Oxford and, as we re-introduce A Levels in the 6th Form, Tollbar is now best placed to provide the kind of qualifications students will need for the future.
