Tollbar Business Enterprise and Humanities College students were looking "to make their mark" on Global Entrepreneurship Week by coming up with original business ideas.
To Make Your Mark competition, run nationally in schools as part of the business week, challenged youngsters to think of a product or service that is locally inspired and has an environmental impact.
As part of the 17-18 age group category the competition was offered to all Year 12 students, all 54 of which took part.
The 10 groups had the day to work on ideas based around the brief before presenting them to a panel of judges, made up of teaching staff.
The winning team will take part in the regional competition with the chance to progress to the national and international finals, the latter of which will be held in Belgrade.
Vince Groak, Assistant Principal with responsibility for business and enterprise, said: "This exercise develops lots of key skills such as working as a team and to a deadline."
"They have to do a financial plan and learn to manage their time to meet objectives as well as building up communication skills.
"I think it will have a positive impact; some people who wouldn't want to do it normally get enthused and develop as the day goes on. It's good to see them being more active."
