Tollbar Business and Enterprise College has become one of 23 secondary schools in the country approved by the Government to support the improvement of other schools.
Tollbar was awarded the Accredited Schools Providers (ASP) kitemark by Schools Secretary Ed Balls.
Accredited Schools Providers (ASPs) will support the lead up to two underperforming schools in the need of rapid sustainable improvement.
The kitemark is specific to Tollbar BEC and separate from the setting up of Tollbar Edge, the company which will sponsor the new Cleethorpes Academy.
Mr Balls said getting the best to lead and support their neighbours is a proven way of raising standards in all schools, and encouraging high achievers to become ASPs should be a key strategy.
Tollbar Principal David Hampson said the accreditation was welcomed by Tollbar, which has a proven track record as an outstanding education provider in North East Lincolnshire.
"We welcome the opportunity to be able to pass on our expertise and knowledge to other schools that need and wish to improve their performance," he said.
"I must stress that at this present time we have no specific plans to do so, but the accreditation gives us the opportunity to help others in the future".
