Tollbar Business and Enterprise College has been rewarded for its success in adding value to its students' GCSE achievements.
Representatives from the New Waltham school joined 613 other specialist schools and academies from around the country at an awards evening held in London.
Each school has achieved high value-added scores in their GCSE results last year.
Value-added scores show the progress students in a school have made between their test results at age 11 and at age 16.
Sir Michael Barber, partner at McKinsey & Co and Head of the Global Education Practice, was the guest speaker. He presented awards to the nine highest achieving schools, including Tollbar.
He said: "These nine schools - and many others around the country - demonstrate daily the power of high expectations, great leadership and, above all, great teaching."
