Dedicated pupil Oliver Mussell has shrugged off the sniffles to make it to school every day for five years.
Oliver, 16, said his parents always encouraged him to keep focused and go to school.
Oliver, who is currently sitting his GCSEs, said: "I just never needed or really wanted to stay off school.
"I want to be a doctor and I know I have to work hard to do that, so coming to school is just part of that process."
Tollbar Business and Enterprise College principal David Hampson said it was rare for students to have a 100 per cent attendance record for the whole of secondary school - and he was so impressed by Oliver that he will be thinking of a special reward to mark his achievement.
"Oliver is a very focused student who knows what he wants and realises that in order to get that, he must achieve at school," said Mr Hampson.
"But his dedication is amazing and we are all very proud of him and wish him well in his exams."
