Young Entrepreneurs Capture Shoppers' Curiosity

The twin peaks of love and money scaled new heights as young entrepreneurs conquered the recession. With bright ideas and business acumen they raised hundreds of pounds at Grimsby's Freshney Place.
Companies created by teams of pupils from schools in North East Lincolnshire and North Lincolnshire put on displays in the shopping precinct.
St Valentine's was one of the themes which captured shoppers' curiosity and cash.
Tollbar Business and Enterprise College entered four teams for the regional heat of the Young Enterprise 2009.
A total of 11 teams are competing for the coveted title of HSBC Innovation Awards.
One T-shirt production team from Tollbar BEC called Soul Edge took 32 orders for personalised T-shirts costing from £5.99.
Marketing manager Liam Allen said: "It has been very good experience coming to Freshney Place. We have had a lot of interest."
Tollbar BEC students formed 'Seren,' which is Welsh for star.
They produced romantic candles and cards for St Valentine's, which almost all sold out. Spokeswoman Courtney Reed (14) said: "The demand has been unbelievable."
Young Enterprise development manager Stella Onyett said: "This is a chance for them to exhibit their products and services and hone their sales experience. These displays are on a par with the best I have seen."
Awards were presented to the winners. They were:
Best Trade Stand - Seren from Tollbar Business, Enterprise and Humanities College, New Waltham.
Best Sales Team - Atomic from John Leggott College, Scunthorpe.
Best Product or Service - Just Phoenix from The St Lawrence Academy.
