TOLLBAR Business and Enterprise College has been recognised for it's outstanding qualities by school inspector Ofsted.

David Hampson, principal of the New Waltham college, has been honoured at an event in Sheffield where Tollbar appeared on Ofsted’s annual list of outstanding schools.

He received a commemorative certificate and the school is now authorised to use an exclusive "outstanding provider" logo.

Speaking after the event, Mr Hampson said: "It's fantastic to be able to receive this honour on behalf of the college.

"We continue to work incredibly hard to ensure the best for our pupils and to seek the best education for them."

Schools on the list provide an excellent quality of education and attain high levels of student achievement.

Addressing the headteachers of 300 schools, Christine Gilbert, Chief Inspector of Education, Children's Services and Skills, said: "I wholeheartedly congratulate the headteachers, staff, governors and students of all outstanding schools on their success and hard work in delivering such an excellent standard of education."
