Students throughout KS3 are formally assessed each term. Each group has three Quality Marks, which are marked according to College policy. The work is marked out of 20 and the marks themselves also relate to the National Curriculum Levels for this subject. Targets are then set to encourage students to improve on their previous performance.
At KS4 students Quality Marks are recorded according to GCSE criteria. A yearly examination is held for each year group.
Student Behaviour - Rewards and Sanctions
A merit system is in operation for Years 7 to 8 and a positive referral system is in place for Years 9, 10 and 11.
Students may be rewarded for consistent effort, progress and a very good standard of class and homework.
Sanctions are rarely used as the students enjoy the subject, but where necessary, we follow the College policy on sanctions.
