Key Stage 3
The KS3 scheme of work in Literacy and Numeracy has been devised with help from both the LA Literacy and Numeracy advisors.
At KS3 selected students in our lower sets have designated curriculum lessons of 50 minutes each for Literacy and Numeracy.
The lessons are designed to initially make up the shortfall in basic skills, then in future years to enhance and improve student performance in these key areas, therefore having a positive impact across the whole of the curriculum. The lessons are delivered by trained Literacy and Numeracy Assistants in small groups (maximum 12) and are tailored to address specific difficulties students may have.
