Key Stage 4 (Years 9, 10 & 11)

At KS4 all students are entered for Edexcel GCSE Mathematics, at a tier of entry appropriate to their ability.  Year 11 are studying towards two examination papers, one of which is non-calculator.

They also need to produce two pieces of coursework: a Data Handling Project and an Investigation.

Year 10 are taking a modular exam.  They take modules in November, March and June.

Year 9 are taking part in a BTEC pilot in Mathematical Applications.

In 2007, 77.8% of students in year 11 achieved grades A*-C, which is well above the National Average.

A selected group of Year 10 students this year sat GCSE a year early. These students achieved very good results with 22 of them gaining an A or A*.  These students went on to study a module, Core 1, from the AS syllabus.
