6th Form
Our 6th form courses are very popular and are undertaken by a high percentage of students.
Students study towards Edexcel Modular AS/A level Mathematics. We also offer AS/A level Further Mathematics.
All courses are run in partnership with Grimsby Institute, enabling students to mix and match their Maths course with other courses run both at Tollbar and Grimsby Institute.
Those students taking AS Mathematics study Core Modules 1 and 2, and Statistics 1. Those moving on to take Maths at A2 also study Core Modules 3 and 4 and Mechanics 1.
Students wishing to take Further Mathematics need to study all the AS and A2 Modules and an additional 6 modules which include combinations of Further Pure, Mechanics, Statistics and Decision Maths Modules.
From September 2008 new courses will be introduced as part of the International Baccalaureate in maths studies, standard level and Higher Level.
