Student Behaviour – Rewards and Sanctions

Staff use the Whole College Merit and Referral system for rewarding students for exceptional work. In addition, students showing a very high level of commitment or producing work of an exceptional standard throughout the year may be recommended for a College award.

Students whose behaviour or level of commitment falls below that to be expected may be issued with small written punishments, extra work or detention. Incidences of more serious misconduct are dealt with through the College’s discipline procedures.

Assessment

At all levels throughout the College students undergo regular assessment through homework, quality mark tests and internal and external exams. All test and exam results are recorded centrally.

Equipment

All students are expected to have appropriate equipment with them for maths lessons and exams. This includes a pen, pencil, eraser, ruler, protractor, compasses and a scientific calculator.
