Aims and Objectives
To encourage the development of all round physical fitness.
To provide opportunities for the development of creative skills and aesthetic appreciation in all forms of physical activity.
To develop an understanding of the basic strategies and terminology associated with individual and team activities, both co-operative and competitive.
To promote an appreciation of physical movement through participation, observation, critical analysis and appraisal.
To foster an understanding of the need for a safe and healthy environment.
To look at ways in which physical education can complement and reinforce learning in other curriculum areas, i.e. cross curricular links, either on an individual basis or as collaborative group work e.g. Literacy, numeracy, ICT, PSD, science and business and enterprise.
