Extra Curricular Activities

The college regularly enters locally organised events and competitions, for example the “ eggliminator” challenges that typically take place at Grimsby Institute for Higher Education. Many of these events are very good for promoting the opportunities for girls within Engineering, and the wider realm of design. We have a generally good track record for the competitions.

We also took the opportunity to send a group of Gifted and Talented students to the “ Starchaser” event that took place last year.

We have a number of college clubs that take place:-

Resistant Materials

With Mr Brompton and Mr French on Thursday Evenings, until 4:30 pm. Within these sessions students acquire practical experience of tools and machinery. One student has manufactured a bird table for her former primary school.

Textiles

Pattern cutting club on Monday Evenings, until 4:30 pm. With Miss Cook and Mrs Yates, students gain practical experience of designing and making patterns and practical construction techniques of clothing.
