What is the course about?
The course will allow you to develop a critical understanding of organisations, the markets they serve and the process of adding value. This will involve consideration of the internal workings and management of organisations and, in particular, the process of decision-making in a dynamic external environment
What will I learn?
- To develop an understanding of relevant business concepts and theories
- To make decisions on the basis of business related case studies and information
- How to analyse, explain and evaluate a wide range of business related issues
When does the course start?
The course starts in September of each year.

Normal daytime attendance.

AQA
How long does the course last?
The AS course is taught as a one year programme.
What does this course lead on to?
You may progress to A2 level.
AS and A2 levels are recognised qualifications for a wide range of courses in Higher Education.
Are there any entry requirments?
No requirement to have studied Business Studies previously

How is the course assessed?
Unit 1: 1 hour written paper 30%
Unit 2: 1 hour written paper 30%
Unit 3: 1 hour written paper 40%
Unit 1 involves questions related to a case study.
Units 2 and 3 are based on a pre-seen case study.

Mature students will be advised as to the exam fees when enrolling prior to the start of the course.
