Orion House

Orion

House Colour: Fantail Orange

Named after the Constellation of Orion.

Location: Northern Hemisphere

Right Ascension: 03h

Declination: +45°

Perhaps second only to the Big Dipper, the constellation of Orion is one of the most recognizable patterns of stars in the northern sky. Orion, the hunter, stands by the river Eridanus and is accompanied by his faithful dogs. Orion's tragic life ended when he stepped on Scorpius, the scorpion. The gods felt sorry for him, so they put him and his dogs in the sky as constellations. They also put all of the animals he hunted up there near him. Scorpius, however, was placed on the opposite side of the sky so Orion would never be hurt by it again.

All six Houses at Tollbar Academy have the same structure and are governed by the same set of rules which apply to all Tollbar Academy students. Regardless of this, each house has its own identity and Orion is certainly no exception in this.

Since the introduction of the House system at Tollbar Academy, Orion has shown itself to be a very caring house. It has consistently been one of the most supportive houses across a variety of charity events and its students have given their money, time and energies generously for the benefit of others less fortunate than themselves. The evidence shows that the students in Orion House are also well disciplined and by far the most punctual in the Academy, something they have been for several years.

Orion's students unanimously chose to adopt 'The Sky's The Limit' as their slogan.

The students in Orion are encouraged to never be content with what they have achieved and always try to extend the boundaries of what they believe is possible.

During the past academic year Orion has taken great strides in its quest to once again become 'simply the best'.
